Superfruits and Seasonal Veggies

Here at Viva, we believe prevention is key when it concerns your health. Eating healthily is one of the best ways to stay ahead of disease and illness, and some foods are better than others. It’s long been proven that a diet rich in fruits and vegetables is associated with less incidences of certain illnesses like heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure.

There’s a lot of hype and marketing magic when it comes to fruits and vegetables. Companies make claims of superfruits and superveggies that are somehow superior to “normal” fruits and vegetables. The truth is, while some fruits and vegetables might be more nutritional than others, if fruits and vegetables are a staple of your diet, you are already eating “super” enough.

One great way to determine what kinds of fruits and vegetables to incorporate into your diet is simply to eat seasonally! Below is a brief list of when certain fruits and vegetables are in season.
