When you join Viva Medicare, you choose one provider, like a doctor or nurse practitioner, to be your Primary Care Provider (PCP).

The specialists and hospitals you use depend on your Provider System.

Open Provider System: If your PCP is in an Open Provider System, you can get your health care from your PCP, any specialist in the Viva Medicare network, and any hospital system in the Viva Medicare Network.

Huntsville Hospital Provider System: If you are a member of Viva Medicare Classic (HMO) or Viva Medicare Extra Care (HMO D-SNP), you can get your health care from your PCP, any specialist in the Viva Medicare network, and any hospital system in the Viva Medicare network. You must select a PCP in Blount, Calhoun, Colbert, Cullman, Etowah, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, or Morgan County.

Viva Medicare Infirmary Health Advantage Closed Provider System: If you are a member of Viva Medicare Infirmary Health Advantage (HMO), you must receive all your care within the Viva Medicare Infirmary Health Advantage closed provider system. This system includes participating providers within the Infirmary Health System.

You can still get out-of-network care in case of emergency, out-of-area renal dialysis, or urgent care situations when network providers are not available.
